Alice Schroeder is CEO and Chair of WebTuner, a Seattle-based cloud video software maker, where she is responsible for all operations, finance, and strategy.
At WebTuner, she executed a turnaround that included a strategic pivot, bridge financing, recapitalization, corporate rebranding, successful entry to revenue stage of growth, business de-risking, new financial and operational controls, introduction of governance, and new strategy for IP development and monetization.
Since 2013 Ms. Schroeder also has been a nonexecutive director and serves on the audit committee of Prudential plc, a FTSE 20 company with market cap exceeding $60 billion. In February 2016 she joined the board of Bank of America Merrill Lynch International where she chairs its audit committee and serves on its risk and governance committees. She was a board member and audit committee chair of Cetera Financial Group, a fast-scaling $1 billion financial services company, until its sale to RCS Capital Corp. in April 2014. Ms. Schroeder also served on the board of WebTuner Corp. from 2012 – 2016.
Ms. Schroeder previously was a senior advisor at Morgan Stanley in the investment banking division, and led the global insurance research teams as a Managing Director at Morgan Stanley, PaineWebber and CIBC Oppenheimer. She began her career as a CPA with Ernst & Young, where she spent 11 years as an auditor serving a diverse range of clients. She later spent two years as a project manager at the Financial Accounting Standards Board, and was primary author of several key accounting standards. Ms. Schroeder is the author of the #1 New York Times and Wall Street Journal bestseller The Snowball: Warren Buffett and the Business of Life, the story of Buffett and Berkshire Hathaway.
Ms. Schroeder holds a Masters of Business Administration from the Red McCombs School of Business at The University of Texas at Austin and a Bachelors of Business Administration degree with honors from The University of Texas at Austin.
