Woody L. Hunt is Chairman and CEO of Hunt Companies, Inc. and its affiliated companies. Founded in 1947, Hunt Companies, Inc. is an industry-leading real estate company dedicated to building value through real asset development, investment, and management. Together, Hunt and its affiliates have more than $24.8 billion in assets under management.

For decades, Hunt has focused on public private partnerships, community development, real asset investment management, and multifamily housing. Mr. Hunt is also actively engaged in civic work that impacts the El Paso region, the state of Texas, and the nation. As part of his service on various civic, non-profit, and professional boards, Mr. Hunt has demonstrated a strong commitment to education.

Currently, Mr. Hunt serves as Chairman of the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board Strategic Planning Committee and as foundation trustee on the College for All Texans Foundation. He also serves as a member of: the Board of Directors for Complete College America, the Texas Institute for Education Reform, the Texans for Education Reform, and the Western Governors University (WGU) Texas Advisory Board. Mr. Hunt is a member of the Development Board at both The University of Texas at El Paso and the Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center at El Paso.

Previously, Mr. Hunt was the Vice-Chairman of The UT System Board of Regents. He served on the Board of Directors of The University of Texas Investment Management Company for seven years (three as Chairman) and was Chairman of the Texas Select Commission on Higher Education and Global Competitiveness. He was a member of: the Commission for College Ready Texas and the Texas Tax Reform Commission, the National Board of the Fund for the Improvement of Postsecondary Education, the Texas Advisory Committee on Higher Education Cost Efficiencies, the Task Force on Higher Education Incentive Funding, and the Council for Continuous Improvement and Innovation in Texas Higher Education. Mr. Hunt also was a founding Chairman and board member of the Medical Centers of the Americas Foundation in El Paso.

Mr. Hunt graduated with honors from The University of Texas at Austin with a Bachelor’s Degree in Finance. He received his MBA in Finance from UT and also earned an MA Degree in Management from the Drucker School of Management at Claremont Graduate University in Claremont, California.
