Earlier this year, McCombs graduate and London Alumni Chapter President, Ashley Walker, founded Culture Engineers. Headquartered in London, the company works with fast-growth small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) on developing organizational culture as a principle source of competitive advantage.
Founder and CEO, Ashley Walker says that, “the initial idea behind the name and brand for Culture Engineers was a combination of art and science, similar to how the soft issues (less tangible, less easily measured) intersect the hard issues (fact-based, easier to be proven) of a business.” Her initial pursuit of a major in civil engineering at UT-Austin may have had something to do with it, too.
Ashley is a strong believer that great businesses and brands are built from the inside out, and that by looking after your company culture and putting your people (the company’s most important asset) first, you will have a stronger business.
Since launching, Culture Engineers has worked with clients in the UK and the US, and also recently ran a workshop for Growth Builder at Loughborough University’s new London campus, focusing on how to build company culture and values, and how to embed these key elements into a business. A collection of insightful interviews from leaders across various sectors, which discuss the importance of culture and communication, are available on their website at http://www.cultureengineers.com/our-thinking/.
