Sterling McDavid is the CEO and Founder of The Starling Project, which is a charitable home candle line that helps provide solar energy to impoverished communities around the world. Inspired by her work in Vietnam for UNICEF, where she is an active UNICEF Next Generation member, McDavid left a career in finance as a financial analyst at Goldman Sachs & Co. in New York to focus her energies on a meaningful solution to help the less fortunate.
Prior to launching The Starling Project, McDavid worked in Paris, France where she refined her keen eye for design, which aided in the development of her highly curated candle collection. Having experience with some of the top perfumeries in Paris provided the ultimate inspiration for the sophisticated scents featured.
A Dallas-Fort Worth, Texas, native, McDavid holds a Bachelor’s degree in Finance from The University of Texas at Austin’s McCombs School of Business and is a graduate of the New York Parson’s School of Design.
Committed to her charitable work, McDavid serves as a member of the UNICEF Next Generation Steering Committee and serves as the National Development Chair. She also was presented with the inaugural Champion for Children Award earlier this year at the annual UNICEF Children’s First Gala in Dallas for her dedication to helping children globally.
Beyond her extensive product design and philanthropic expertise, McDavid has a passionate entrepreneurial spirit serving as the CEO/Founder of Sterling McDavid LLC, a residential real estate company, and is also a co-owner of the New York City restaurant Hunt & Fish Club.
