“German” dances for $1.00 were held in the Union every Saturday, $2.00 for big bands (Wayne King, etc.) in Gregory Gym. Dating was inexpensive. $1.00 would cover the 5 cent street car fare; 25 cents each at the downtown shows; friscos at Night Hawk were 15 cents – at times we walked to and from town.
We used hand-operated Burroughs calculators in statistics. IBM equipment with the “88” cards was new to business. Income Tax was a great subject; the entire code was ONE loose-leaf binder.
